Omar Ortiz-Meraz is spatial analyst and GIS programmer with planning skills. Possess substantial experience in infrastructure, territorial and environmental projects, and academic research; in complement with knowledge on processing automation and management of geospatial information, cartographic analysis, data acquisition, and map production.
Having done an engineering in geomatics in the national university of Mexico (UNAM), Omar continued his academic formation in The Groningen University (The Netherlands) with a M.Sc. in Environmental and Infrastructure Planning. After some years in the professional field, both in public and private institutions, he is back into academia at Concordia University in the Ph.D. program of Geography, Planning and Environment.
Currently his research is focused on the urban morphology and morphogenesis. His personal interests include contemporary art, ethics.
